For the fourth time, the FaMeta 2024 metalworking trade exhibition took place from June 26 to 28, 2024 as the only industry trade fair in Bavaria without competition. The 4:0 during the European Football Championship once again brought healthy growth compared to the previous year. Visitors from 392 metalworking companies met over 50 exhibitors at the CNC Outlet Center Olching.
Over three days, hundreds of interested visitors attended the regional trade fair and took advantage of the wide range of information on offer in lectures, presentations, demonstrations and technical discussions. "We are very pleased about the fourth record number of visitors in a row, but we appreciate the visitors' expertise even more," says Holger Kösler, initiator of the metalworking trade fair. "We want high-level technical discussions and offer machine operators as well as manufacturers and developers the necessary framework for this. We will continue this success at the next FaMeta from July 9 - 11, 2025."
The intensive dialog between the experts, directly at the machine, during the presentations or in the beer garden, distinguishes the metalworking trade exhibition from many other trade fairs. This is how the exhibitors see it: "The special thing about FaMeta is its clear technical focus," says Ludwig Linner, Managing Director of the Herion Linner Group, which was represented with special tools and the tool grinding service: "Almost all visitors come from the machining industry and are therefore interested in particularly precise tool grinding in the high-end sector."
Exhibitors such as Axon, Chiron, EMAG, Geibel+Hotz Hahn+Kolb, Index, Kunzmann, Mazak, Primacon, Tornos and Weiler demonstrated their machines under power. "We demonstrated our CNC machine tool with optimized laser measurement, higher spindle speed and more torque together with blank, pallet and vice handling," says Tobias Hofmann, Managing Director of Axon Metal Cutting Solutions. "We have been successful here for years."
Visitors were also able to examine automation and robot solutions, industrial software, tool and clamping systems and all kinds of peripheral devices for machine tools. "At FaMeta, we experience much closer customer contact and talk in a much more technical way than at the usual trade fairs," confirms Tobias Landgraf, Business Development Manager at Munich-based Robco GmbH. Armin Kusch from the Emuge-Franken factory representative adds: "Everyone gets talking to everyone here. We make significantly more contacts at this trade fair than at the usual in-house exhibitions."
A goal wall shoot-out on the occasion of the European Football Championship and the traditional beer garden with alpine hut contributed to the good atmosphere. The next FaMeta - Metalworking Trade Exhibition will take place in Olching from July 9 to 11, 2025.
